The House of Representatives on Wednesday held a Eucharistic celebration which was sponsored by the Committee Affairs Department (CAD) led by its three retiring officials, namely Deputy Secretary-General Atty. Arlene Dada-Arnaldo, Executive Director Violeta Veloso, and Deputy Executive Director Lorelei Hernandez. In his homily, mass presider Rev. Fr. Luciano Ariel Felloni, Parish Priest of Kristong Hari Parish of the Diocese of Novaliches, enjoined everyone to be like Jesus who was a blessing to everyone he would meet, ready to extend help to anyone in need and not be like the Pharisees who would look for faults instead as depicted in the gospel reading. “If you are like Jesus, you are a blessing. You are a person that can detect and realize when someone is in need kahit walang nagsabi. Yun po ang ugali ni Jesus and Mama Mary, that attitude of sensing a need and wanting to be of help,” he said. “At kung ikaw ay katulad ng mga Pariseo naghahanap kung sino nagkamali para mapuna, para mahusga, malaking parusa ka sa opisina, sa pamilya at sa simbahan,” Fr. Felloni said. Meanwhile, before the mass ended, the mass lector Internal Audit Bureau Executive Director Stella Doiller thanked the CAD led by Arnaldo, Veloso and Hernandez not only for their dedicated service to the House but also for sharing their gift of time and supporting the Eucharistic celebrations and religious activities of the House. “Thank you for sharing with us your faith journey,” Doller said. For his part, Fr. Felloni said that he will be on sabbatical to rest and recover upon his doctor’s advice. He also shared that he will take up a course in Rome about missions for one semester, then go home to Argentina to visit his family after six years of not seeing them, and finally do the pilgrimage on foot dubbed “Camino de Santiago” all the way from France to Spain.
